Why didn’t we get an email?

We were on a sales call with a B2B ecommerce brand recently.

While chatting, we quietly opted in to their email list — just to see what would happen.

Ten minutes later, we still hadn’t received a follow-up email after opt-in.

No “hi”, no “welcome”, no “special offer”, nothing.

Zip. Nada.

So we told them. Right there on the call.

The CEO looked stunned.

The marketing director said, “Well, we aren’t worried about that… you’re not our ideal customer.”

My response: “How do you know that?”

And that’s the whole point.

You have no idea who is and is not visiting your site.

Most brands think if someone doesn’t buy right now, they’re not interested. But the reality? An unsettling percentage of potential customers are just not ready yet. Maybe they’re considering. Comparing. Waiting on timing or budget approval.

Doesn’t mean they’re not a fit. Doesn’t mean they’re not ideal. Just that they’re not ready.

Here’s the hard truth:

Most B2B ecommerce brands spend 60–70% of their budget on ads, but only convert 1–2% of traffic.

The rest?
Gone.
No opt-in. No follow-up. No memory.

Which means ideal customers are walking in, poking around… and leaving, sometimes forever.

The fix?
A curiosity-driven opt-in to capture interested browsers.
A sharp welcome flow (4–5 emails) to lead them naturally to a conversion.
A system that captures attention now — and continues the conversation later.

It’s a pretty simple setup that packs a lot of punch (for a long time).

Your marketing shouldn't assume a buyer is ready.
It should be ready when they are.

Do you have an email revenue system like this already set up and running quietly in the background?

Reply and let me know.
